Description
Whang-od Oggay, better known as Apo Whang-Od, is a Filipina tattoo artist known as one of the last and oldest living mambabatok (traditional Kalinga tattooist) artists. A member of the Kalinga Butbut group, she was given the Dangal ng Haraya Award by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in 2018. Her craft is being continued by the grandnieces she has selected for apprenticeship.
