There's an endless list of things to love about the province of Iloilo, which contains the regional center of Western Visayas. This narrow strip of land with forests in the east and the sea in the west is what makes up Antique, an agricultural province known for its cottage industry craftsmanship that yields fine baskets, hats, mats, and piña and jusi cloth weaves. In contrast to the its idyllic lifestyle, it also has a lineup of exciting outdoor attractions. Aklan is also the oldest province in the country, whose establishment in the 13th century is celebrated in the annual Ati-atihan Festival, dubbed the “The Mother of all Philippine Festivals". Masbate lies at the crossroads of Visayas and Luzon, with a fascinating terrain that ranges from undulating and rolling hills to mountainous areas.
