The protected coastal desert covers 85 square kilometers of sandy terrain that are sought after by 4x4 adventurers, sand boarders, and photographers. Kingfisher Resort Review

This beachfront resort is a hotspot for kite surfing and wind-surfing, with a 200-meter shoreline, flat, shallow waters and no undercurrent - making it safe even for groups with non-swimmers, small children, and/or senior citizens. Guests can also go kite boarding, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, and volleyball, to name a few. It has breathtaking views all around, fronted by the beach and backed by rolling hills and windmills in the distance.

Description

Formally known as the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Bacarra Church is a Roman Catholic church is most famous for its centuries-old domeless leaning bell tower know as "Torre ti Bacarra". Built by Augustinian friars in 1593, the church was declared a National Historical Landmark by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines. The former church convent also now houses the Museo de Bacarra, which showcases archival records and religious artifacts.

Kaangrian Falls Review

This natural waterfall's multi-layered cascades and magical location is an inviting spot to swim in in Barangay Paayas. The water flows over smooth, layered boulders and into a shallow basin of blue waters interspersed within the foliage. t has become one of the more newly accessible falls since an access road was completed in 2021.

Paoay Lake Birdwatching Review

Description

Birdwatching is an emerging ecotourism attraction in the province, especially in Paoay Lake National Park. Paoay Lake - the largest lake in Ilocos Norte - and the park's lush forests have been observed to be a thriving site for migratory birds. In 2021, a birdwatching circuit was launched in the park, attracting more birders from all around and beyond the country. Based on the yearly Asian Waterbird Census, species sighted in the area include the Little Grebe, Great Egret, Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Philippine Duck, Tufted Duck, White-browed Crake, Common Kingfisher, White-collared Kingfisher, White-throated Kingfisher, and the Great Cormorant whose return was greatly anticipated in 2019.

Also known as the Marcos Museum and Mausoleum, the Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Presidential Center in Batac, Ilocos Norte, contains an extensive collection of memorabilia about the life and career of late former Philippine president, Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr. It is most famous for housing what was believed to be the late president's preserved embalmed remains, which were put on display in a glass cenotaph after his remains were brought there from the United States in 1993 and remained there until his body was re-interred at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig on November 18, 2016.
